Well the day after Thanksgiving (Black Friday) is almost here. My Manager took me back to the warehouse today and said that we got our computers in for Black Friday. When I went in the warehouse I saw computers piled on the floor. My manager said there was probably over 100 computers. All of the computers are going to be customized & have the restore discs made for the customers.
It was a long day today at work I took a few pictures of the Precinct.

Great, That fourth picture makes me look like a slacker. But I do like the picture of myself and Nathan both hunched over working on computers, almost a double image.

It was BUSY today....nothin' like gettin piled up with 100 new pc's when you've got fifty other things to do!

Ok,
This is probably going to piss off all of you Geek Squad members, but hear me out. First of all I am part of the Blog because I am an outsider looking in. I have been in retail, I do tech support, I am somewhat of a computer geek, and I have been a friend of Kobi's for a long time (had to name drop!!).
I'm looking at these pictures of what you guys/gals are doing to the computers that you are selling for Black Friday, and I must say, "kudos" for making the consumers life easy by creating them their restore discs, but here is my beef!!!
If I just bought a brand new computer, brought it home, and found out that you guys opened it, used it, and customized it, i would be pissed!! I know you did it so the computer idiots of the world today, you know the ones that can't figure out where the power button is, would be able to get their computer up and running without a problem. And just by chance when those people screwed their computer up somehow, and they call into Geek Squad, you could just tell them to use the restore disc and everything would be kosher. But why??!!??
Two things and I'll be done:
1. Like I mentioned before...opening up a computer that has been used, even though it was by you guys, helping the customer out, I would still be pissed.
2. This one is for your benefit, and the companies benefit. Aren't you guys losing profits for Geek Squad/Best Buy, by creating the restore disc and customizing the computers??? I would think that you would NOT want to do that because isn't it like $60.00/hr to have someone come in and get those services done??
That's just me. What you guys guys do in the Geek Squad is great, you help out the ones that need it. Your patience is unbelievable because I would probably shoot someone with the stupid crap that they bring to you guys.
So have fun with Black Friday, Have a Great Thanksgiving, and I'll be sitting back and watching the Lions probably lose their 3rd in a row!!
Later,
Josh
